Purchase a bike to fit you
Many people don't realize that bikes come in a lot of different sizes. Men's frame sizes run from 17-1/2", 19-1/2" to 23", and you can also get a smaller bike with 24" wheels. From time to time someone calls us who is a bit too heavy, even for the heavy duty cruisers. Most have their heart set on a heavy duty cruiser, and they are really disapointed when I tell them the design weight limits are 250 lbs. I always feel bad because I know they are motivated to ride a bike for exercise, and I wasn't able to help them. Well actually, if you are in this situation there is a bike for you, and it is called the PAV3. It is the sporty trike on the left. It's design weight is 500 lbs. Now think about it, you are wanting a bike for exercise aren't you? This baby will fix you up! Obviously these neat trikes could be used for other things, and they are. Industry uses them to transport busy technicians and mechanics, along with big tool boxes. The military uses them for the same purpose, and they also help people with special needs get valuable exercise. When we had our shop on the beach we used to have a man who was blind come in with one of his friends to ride our tandem. I hope he eventually bought one of his own because he enjoyed it so much. Riding your bike every day will keep you fit and healthy and be fun as well. Bike riding can also save you big bucks in transportation costs. If you are one of the lucky people who lives near enough to work to be able to commute to work by bicycle, you can save a lot of money on commuting, and keep fit and healthy at the same time. My wife and I were talking the other day and we determined that we have been on some kind of diet for 20 years or so. You have have to work at staying fit now. You get the best results through a combination of diet and exercise, and if you exercise on a regular basis your diet doesn't have to be as strict, and exercise keeps yourt heart and other body systems in good shape. Say you determine that you need to cut 500 calories per day to lose weight at the rate you want, if you ride a bike for an hour per day you only have to reduce the calories in your diet by 250 calories per day for the same results.
